4:18 “You know, you’re developing a very loud personality.” Otherwise known as SHUT UP.
6:11 Rocky’s gone sci-fi. Robots aren’t that advanced even now.
11:46 Russian doping scandals reference. NOTHING CHANGES.
16:14 These films have great sporting moral questions.
18:43 The smack-talking press conferences are not my favourite.
22:35 Hoping Dolph doesn’t get paid by the word.
24:39 Actual James Brown.
28:45 He speaks! “You vill lose.”
33:07 That’s where the phrase “throwing in the towel” comes from? Amazing.
34:21 That romance I was hoping for isn’t gonna happen now, dammit.
43:18 Oof, that shot from the first film. We’ve come such a long way!
43:29 The eighties music is doing my head in a bit.
47:22 “Going one more round when you don’t think you can, that’s what makes all the difference in your life.”
58:05 This montage sums up everything that Rocky is. Others are all out training, but he gets his experience living.
1:00:26 Rocky with a beard reminds me of when Daniel Ricciardo grew a beard.
1:03:43 Rocky legit just ran up a mountain.
1:04:22 Curious about the time zone sitch for a boxing match between Russia and the US on Christmas Day.
1:11:18 Seven words so far.
1:14:31 No pain. NO PAIN.
1:22:04 Sylvester is looking really buff. Can’t take my eyes off his abs.

Well, this is a dip in the franchise, I’ll admit. It has the elements that have made the previous three Rocky movies good, but it juuuust kinda tips them too far into being less enjoyable. For example, the situation: Russia vs the US, seems a bit old now, maybe it was more exciting at the time.

The music was so eighties, when he was driving his car in rage with the montage playing in his head. SO EIGHTIES. And that robot, I really wish I’d never seen the robot.

Also no more bromance. So boo.

Having said all that, I did like the message behind it, the never-give-up attitude, the training in real life, the quote mentioned above about going one more round when you don’t think you can. I really did find those inspirational.

Worth watching, probably, but the worst of the four by far.
