Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. This wouldn’t be my first choice in film watching but our reasons for indulging are threefold. 1) It’s short. 2) It’s easygoing for frazzled brains. 3) It has Emma Stone! I’m always keen to see Emma, even if it is a film that she probably would rather forget.
Overall, it wasn’t the worst film I’ve seen and it had some good references, crazy characters, and some ditzy lines that amused. I didn’t really like the whole “makeover suddenly makes them popular” thing, but it was somewhat offset by the fact that it worked both ways. The moral in the end, of just be yourself, was worthwhile, I’m just not sure it went the right route of getting there.
Still, an unusual concept and fun enough when you’ve got a glass of wine in your hand.
