Just when he's needed most, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), that witty and wily charmer of a pirate, is trapped on a sea of sand in Davy Jones' Locker. In an increasingly shaky alliance, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom), Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) begin a desperate quest to find and rescue him. Captain Jack's the last of the nine Pirate Lords of the Brethren Court who must come together united in one last stand to preserve the freedom-loving pirates' way of life. From exotic Singapore to World's End and beyond, from Shipwreck Island to a titanic battle, this adventure's filled with over-the-edge action, irreverent humor and seafaring myth and magic.

5:10 Uh oh, Keira is singing.
10:22 Blimey, that is Singapore? Can’t see ’em having much of a race around there!
15:45 All these pirates have quite marvellous scars.
18:02 I feel like the trouble with this film already is that it needs more Jack Sparrow, and they haven’t even started looking for him yet.
24:00 I wondered how long it would be before they explained how Barbossa had actually come back.
32:43 It all went very Titanic. He looked ahead to see danger, and then they all tipped up.
33:50 Woah. They may have overcompensated it on the whole Jack Sparrow thing.
36:40 I think this is exactly what we needed. Jack Sparrow to be even more mental.
37:34 “Now we’re being followed by rocks. Never had that before.”
40:40 He always did know how to make an entrance.
47:26 Three films in and they still think we care about Elizabeth and Will.
56:15 Titanic again!
1:01:37 “The problem with being the last of anything, soon there is none left at all.”
1:12:45 “Do you think he plans it all out or makes it up as he goes along?”
1:24:24 There’s lots of twisting and turning in these films, and this time I am struggling to follow.
1:26:59 I’m sure she got on that rope the wrong way… and at some point appears to turn round.
1:36:53 Ooh, he’s a pirate with a patch now!
1:43:54 Captain Swann.
2:00:49 Rousing Independence Day style speech. Not quite the same from Elizabeth, though.
2:02:09 Are you telling me the skull and swords Jolly Roger isn’t a global pirate flag?
2:12:29 Ooh, a wedding on a boat. I can relate. Kinda.
2:23:56 I think I might start shouting “belay that” all the time.
2:33:53 He can’t have a day off already.

Conclusions

After watching the second film in this series, we weren’t that bothered about the third but it was sort of obligatory considering we already had access to it, and there was something of a cliffhanger at the end of the previous one.

Immediate reaction was: Well, that was kinda fun but the plot is absolutely incomprehensible. If there was a plot, I couldn’t follow it at all, and it was really only enjoyable because of the characters that we have grown to know so well.

And then, a day or two later, Mr C and I were talking about the film and couldn’t remember it at all. Individual scenes, of course, but what was it actually all about?
