Thoughts

I had high hopes for this because, you know, George and Julia, and it lived up to the hype! A solid rom-com, funny and with a good story and a happy ending. What I wasn’t expecting was for Billie Lourd to steal the show, but if I’d known she was in it I probably would have expected that too.

There are some lingering questions I have about that story, mostly about the logistics of an entire family just giving up their lives and moving to Bali, but also about the banana. How did Julia do that? Turns out it wasn’t magic but a needle trick. Amazing.

Ultimately a feel good story, if not particularly groundbreaking. Some of the best of Hollywood enjoying themselves, and some up and comers doing a great job too. Top work.
