“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete. Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”

1:34:20.- I mean, I’m calling all the shenanigans but it was still awesome.
1:44:01 – They’re fighting again but they’ve totally swapped sides.
1:45:57 – Was just saying how much I love a flying punch and Vin pulls out a flying head butt!
1:54:37 – Oh look, they JUST ran out of runway.

Conclusions

This film was ridiculous, over the top, full of unbelievable stunts and generally just very silly. But I still loved it. The stuff with the tank was about as crazy as it gets, particularly people flying through the air like Superman, but it was fun and never taking itself too seriously, which is what made it acceptable.

Also, I was so sad at the end, when Han suffered his loss and then they showed the scenes from F&F3 as well. I didn’t think I’d actually grow to care about these characters at all. I didn’t think I’d get much past the first film, but now I’m totally in love with them all! It’s not Shakespeare and it’s not going to change the world, but I think it’s brilliant.
